I clearly recall scouring the classifieds for estate agency jobs, and my first interview at the tender age of 18. I’d been selling business cards door-to-door but knew I wanted something bigger. I met the MD of a small local chain, somehow landed the job and rest is history.
I was the firm’s top residential negotiator in my first two years, became the youngest branch manager in the history of the business (aged 19) and founded a commercial & development division that with three branches and more than 25 staff, established itself as one of the leading niche practices in the South East. More than 28 years were spent with some fantastic partners, staff and clients building one of London’s largest independent estate agencies. Selling to one of the large corporates in 2022 was a pivotal moment. Whilst sad in many ways, it granted freedom from the restrictions and automation of big business, got me out from behind a desk in a top floor office and enabled me to get back to what I love best – helping people with all things property.
I’m a South Londoner and love my patch. You’ll struggle to name a road in which I haven’t sold or let a flat, house, office or shop. I don’t claim to know everything, but I do know property.
